# Ubik vs. other LLMs

> How Ubik differs from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity for perishable trade operations.

Ubik is an operator layer, not another chat window.

It routes the right model to approved work, reads your trade stack, preserves operating memory, and keeps sensitive actions under review.

Generic AI tools answer. Ubik carries the work through systems, evidence, review, and follow-through. The table below is the short version.

## The comparison

| Capability | **Ubik** | ChatGPT | Claude | Gemini | Perplexity |

Model choice is not the product. Ubik can route work across frontier models, but the durable value is source context, workflow memory, and reviewed action.

## Knows frozen food trade

Generic LLMs are trained on the open web. They can define a HS code if you paste one in, but they don't reason about HS 0306.17 vs 0306.18 in your account history, your FDA hold patterns, or the cold-chain transit window from India to NJ.

Ubik ships with frozen-food semantics built in: HS codes, BOL, lot codes, cold chain, FDA holds, certification gates, and lane transit days. Your team does not have to teach it the basics before asking operational questions.

## Fine-tuned for your stack and workflows

This is where the bigger gap lives. ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity sit in their own chat windows. You copy work in. You copy work out. Gemini lives inside Google Workspace but won't touch your ERP, CRM, or WhatsApp.

Ubik connects directly to Gmail, Outlook, WhatsApp, Zoho, SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, HubSpot, Maersk, Power BI, and 800+ other tools. Agents read state from those systems and write back through reviewed workflows: RFQs become quotes, POs land in ERP, ETA shifts trigger customer updates, and approval trails stay attached.

## Remembers your trade

Generic memory in ChatGPT or Claude remembers that you prefer Markdown and that your dog's name is Charlie. It does not remember that Atlantic Cold's price floor was \$3.20/kg, that vendor 7015 has had two FDA holds in the last 12 months, or that your finance head approved a partial shipment for this buyer six weeks ago.

Ubik memory is scoped to your trade: meetings, supplier history, prior shipments, decisions, approval chains, pricing patterns, and customer commitments. It surfaces the right context when a buyer email lands or a manager asks why work is blocked.

## Your data never trains the model

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity offer opt-out toggles on training. Perplexity's stance varies by plan. None of them are contractual by default.

Ubik never trains any model on customer data. RFQs, supplier pricing, margin data, and customer credentials stay in your workspace. SOC 2 Type II is in progress, ISO 27001 is mapped, EU and APAC data residency are available. Enterprise customers can deploy private, local, or air-gapped.

## What this means in practice

If your team already uses ChatGPT or Claude for drafting, keep it for one-off thinking. Use Ubik when the work needs to carry: a quote that has to ship, a PO that has to land in ERP, an ETA shift that has to reach the customer before they ask, or a margin exception that needs review.

Different category. Routes the right model, runs inside your stack, remembers your trade, and keeps the operator accountable.
